in 2 sec the distance travelled by car B S1 = u t + 1/2 a t^2 = 30.6 x 2 – 1/2 x 5 x 2 x 2 = 51.2 m
and the distance travelled by car A S2 = u t = 30.6 x2 = 61.2 m
so, the trailing distance between the cars will be d = S2 – S1 = 61.2 – 51.2 = 10m
